A new shop is due to open in Basingstoke and this looks set to create jobs for local people, as well as giving the economy in the region a boost.
Planning permission has been granted for a new bargain superstore to open in the Brookvale region of Basingstoke, bringing with it the hope that new jobs will be created for local residents and that more people will choose to shop locally in the Basingstoke region. The planning permission is for a new B&M Homestore shop, which will be situated near the Morrison’s supermarket on Worting Road.
Developers hope that the new shop will create up to 24 new jobs. Even those who don’t get a job there could well see a boost from the store opening, as it may require the services of other local businesses to support it. For example, many retailers rely heavily on printing companies to provide them with services like promotional flyer, newsletter and poster printing.
Basingstoke’s branch of B&M Homestore Plans to stock a wide range of goods, from household items to gifts and toys, at reasonable prices. The acceptance of the planning application will come as a real perk to developers, who no doubt felt disheartened after their bid was originally reviewed back in May but was pushed back, as the council felt that B&M Homestore should make a payment towards road alterations near its property, necessitated by a potential increase in traffic. The bid has since been accepted and work on the store is expected to start shortly.Get a Free Quote for Plans
