The Family Football Festival is the brainchild of the Rotary Club of Basingstoke. However this organisation has managed to bring Basingstoke College of Technology on board as a partner and is hoping to persuade others to help out. The event will feature a range of football-related activities including a trivia competition, penalty contests and five-a-side matches.
The venue is set to be Winklebury Football Complex and the organisers are promising a festival that unites every part of the community under the football umbrella.
Poster printing that has been provided by shops in Basingstoke is just one of the choices available to the organisers of local festivals, when they start to advertise them.
President of the Rotary Club, Tunde Adelakun, told the Basingstoke Gazette that they were keen to get as many community groups and businesses involved as possible. Then he added:
“We are happy about our association with these big institutions, aligning the ideals of Rotary with some of the biggest names that draw the biggest audience in the town is no mean feat.”
The College of Technology will be donating a special prize for the raffle. The festival will be taking place on 6th July.
