Not-for-profit organisations in the Basingstoke region got the chance to attend a special road show, designed to help charities save money and survive in the current tough economic climate.
The road show, arranged by the Foundation for Social Improvement, took place at Basingstoke’s Ark Conference Centre. The two-day event featured workshops that gave free advice on budget planning and tips on creating an economically sustainable business strategy during the recession.
Pauline Broomhead is Chief Executive of the Foundation for Social Improvement. Broomhead commented on the recession-busting road show, saying:
“When we set out we wanted to ensure that small charities could thrive and continue to do the very important work they do supporting individuals, families, communities and causes across the country.”
There are a number of ways that charities can adapt the way they work to survive the recession. One of the key elements to the success of a charity is the ability to promote the work it does and to shout about any fundraising initiatives or events. Many charities have started using local printing companies in Basingstoke to save money when creating things like Posters and Flyers. This is due to the convenience that comes with using local firms and the fact that these companies are more likely to be able to tailor a printing project to suit a budget.
The event was open to all charities with a turnover lower than £1.5m and was well-attended by local charity organisations.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Posters
