When the Race for Life event was held in Basingstoke last year, thousands of women from the local area got together to participate in the three endurance challenges. Clad in pink, they walked or ran distances of 5km or 10km along the Down Grange Sports Complex track in a bid to raise cash for the charity.
As with last year’s event, the 2017 Basingstoke Race for Life will be followed by the Pretty Muddy challenge. This is an activity where the women compete in teams to complete a mud-caked obstacle course and the charity is urging local women to make the event even more successful than last year’s.
Fiona Miller, the event manager for the town, told the Basingstoke Observer that:
“Signing up to take part in Race for Life is a great way for women to set themselves a new and exciting challenge for 2017. Every step women take will help to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
The Race for Life challenge is due to take place on 10th June and charity events such as this one often make use of places that can provide leaflet printing, to help promote them.
