Several dinosaur skeletons that are usually housed in one of the capital’s major museums will be taking up temporary residence in the town, marking one part of several events taking place throughout Hampshire.
They will be on display in the Milestones Museum, housed within Basingstoke Leisure Park, to celebrate DINOFEST2015, giving curious attendees the opportunity to get close to these fascinating creatures.
Further exciting loan-outs from national museums, such as artworks and fossils, will be combined with existing exhibits across 10 different venues in Hampshire, for the purposes of DINOFEST2015.
As with other temporary exhibitions there, those in charge of the Milestones Museum can always turn to postcard printing in Basingstoke if they want to be able to offer visitors the chance to buy permanent souvenirs.
Speaking to the press ahead of the opening of the exhibition, Hampshire Cultural Trust’s chief executive, Janet Owen, said:
“With the imminent launch of the latest Jurassic Park film we’re anticipating a resurgence of interest in these incredible creatures and expecting to see thousands of people coming through our doors over the coming months.”
The exhibition, which is called Dino Hunter, will be running at the Milestones Museum from June 13 until September 27.
