A site not far from Ashton-under-Lyne is set to be used for the building of a new housing estate, after Tameside Council’s planning committee gave the go ahead.
The chosen site was previously a depot for the council, but the current owner of the land submitted an application to the local authority for a development that will see an estate consisting of 55 four, three and two-bedroom houses built there. The committee opted to give these proposals the nod at a recent meeting, ensuring that work on the project can get underway soon.
The application also includes Plans for a village green to be created, which will be surrounded by the homes on the estate. There will be 12 houses with four bedrooms, 31 with three bedrooms and 12 two-bedroom properties. When new estates are built, developers often use brochure printing to show off their properties to the public.
As part of the agreement, the developer is required to provide funding that will be used to finance improvements to infrastructure and roads in the area. It will also be paying out £120,000 to provide new affordable housing and a further sum of £63,898 to a local school for the building of an extension.
No date for work on the construction of the estate to get underway has been announced yet.Get a Free Quote for Plans
