The Guide Bridge Youth Theatre Groups are due to present their summer productions, a double bill. Two separate performances of two different plays on the same day in Ashton-under-Lyne at the end of June.
The Junior Group will perform 'Prof's Big Idea' written by Geoff Bamber and directed by Jackie Hall. The plot involves a Professor who is about to make a scientific breakthrough - a world changing idea. But science isn't quite that simple. There are gadgets that don't work properly, strange assistants, and things inevitably go wrong with the lab now a dangerous place. It is quick paced and funny.
The Senior Group will perform 'Goldilocks On Trial' written by Ed Monk and directed by Damien Cullen. Goldilocks is apparently an ordinary girl with blonde hair. However the Three Bears insist that, she’s a delinquent who breaks into homes and exhibits a clear disregard for the the personal items and porridge of others. This court based comedy has a cast of famous fairy-tale characters.
These two one act plays provide a valuable opportunity for emerging acting talent to showcase their skills.
Tickets cost £8.00 for each performance. Graphic design makes an important contribution to any stage or theatrical production.
'GBT Youth Theatre: Summer 2026' will start respectively at 2.00 pm and 7.00 pm on Saturday 27th June at Guide Bridge Theatre, Ashton-under-Lyne.
