Ashton Market Square is situated in the heart of the town. This complex has been given a major facelift, thanks to money provided by Tameside Council. It is now being prepared for reopening, and eight of the outlets that will be based there have been revealed. The plan is for the revamped complex to combine quirky retail outlets, street food vendors and grab-and-go eateries.
The outlets confirmed for it include an Asian street food venue called Oppa Kitchen; a lunch and breakfast place called Mamma Julie’s; a premium coffee shop named Market Grounds Coffee; a family greengrocer by the name of Wilson’s Fruit and Veg Ltd and a shop called Its.2.Say that will stock trinkets crafted by hand.
When new shops and restaurants set up for business in town, they need to be promoted. Ashton-under-Lyne has Print shops that can create themed Promotional Products to give away to people.
Nicola Elsworth works for Tameside Council as its director of strategic growth. Talking to Premier Construction News, she said:
“Ashton Market has served as a community meeting point for over 700 years, and in restoring that role we believe this will establish Ashton as one of Greater Manchester’s most distinctive town centre destinations.”
