A venue close to Ashton-under-Lyne is due to welcome the writer and presenter Mark Llewellin towards the end of May, as part of its regular Wednesday Club series.
This is an afternoon of engaging stories under the title My Odd Life: Daisy Nook to Coronation Street, told by Llewellin himself. Born in Bristol, Llewellin subsequently moved to Yorkshire to study drama, and now resides in Greater Manchester. He was also the partner of the late actor Roy Barraclough, best remembered as the publican, Alec Gilroy, in Coronation Street.
Llewellin’s life is a journey that includes being the owner of a garden centre. Humour, wisdom and tales from backstage are all to be anticipated, having worked with the likes of Ken Dodd, Angelina Ballerina, Kim Woodburn and Barbara Knox.
Llewellin has spent many years accumulating stories and is now ready to entertain audiences with them. Telling the reality of what happens after the cameras are no longer rolling, or how a man can survive such an eclectic lifestyle, his “odd life” is all about discovering the funny side.
Tickets cost £5.00. Print shops can greatly assist in the production of a stage show or theatrical event like this one.
