This stop-off in Ashton was part of a wider visit to Manchester, during which he was shown around several organisations and projects located there. Ashton Old Baths, which is one of the most iconic buildings in the local area, is situated in Stamford Street West and has undergone an extensive renovation process.
The Prince officially arrived there at around 1.30pm on 4th September and found a sizeable crowd of residents there to meet him, with enthusiastic cheers. He posed for photographs with many of those who had come to see him.
He also spoke to both Tameside Council’s chief executive, Steve Pleasant MBE, and Andy Kinsey, Tameside’s Deputy Mayor. After this, he took a look inside the building, which has been turned into the Resilient Hub. Kinsey told the Tameside Reporter:
“He was very pleased to see so many people turn up to see him at Ashton Old Baths and he was very happy to see we’ve transformed such an iconic Tameside building into a magnificent working space for so many people.”
Those using working spaces such as this one often also make use of places that provide business card printing.
