Residents of Ashton-under-Lyne
seeking options for a night out in 2016 will be delighted to learn that a new venue is now available – with the local Browton’s bottle shop now a pub as well.
Since it first opened its doors at the end of 2012, this bottle shop has proven to be a hit with locals. Located on Fletcher Street, to the back of the market hall, those who use it will have the choice of purchasing one of the numerous real ales either to take away with them – as before – or to stay and drink there.
Simon Browton, the shop owner, has secured an on-license and he told the Manchester Evening News that regulars were thrilled at the prospect of enjoying their drinks within the 20-seater pub he has created there.
“It’s been massively popular. At first I sold beer, wine and a bit of food but the beer was that popular I got rid of everything else to concentrate on that – especially with all the microbreweries opening up around Greater Manchester.”
As with the owners of other local pubs and restaurants, Browton will be able to make use of leaflet printing if need be to help publicise the new venture.
Browton’s stocks a number of locally brewed ales including Manchester’s Marble and TicketyBrew from Stalybridge.
