The singer-songwriter Davey MacManus is beginning his comeback tour with five shows and is due to play Ashton-under-Lyne towards the end of July.
He was a member of two popular Manchester bands, namely The Crocketts and The Crimea. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the emergence of his 1994 debut solo album, 'Stuff Your Cherry Pie'. It was recorded by Meic Knox-Thomas in the old Malthouse studios, with a re-release date now pencilled in.
Since 2013, The Crimea's last show, Davey has gained a degree in Nursing, subsequently working in South Africa, Diepsloot township as well as London, Dublin and Cork. He went from two decades in the music business to A&E.
Davey will, of course, be playing 'Blue Dog' his first written composition amongst others, not to mention songs from both The Crocketts' and The Crimea's back catalogue. A new solo album 'Even The Trees Know Karate' is due out soon. The first track 'Disneyland' can presently be found on YouTube.
The support on this occasion is provided by American singer-songwriter Stephen Wilson Jr.
A standard ticket costs £15. Print shops can be of great practical value to the organisers of a concert or musical event.
Davey MacManus's show has a starting time of 7.30 pm on Sunday 21st July at The Witchwood, Ashton-under-Lyne.
