Expansion for Ashton-under-Lyne nursery

A nursery for small children run by a local family in Ashton-under-Lyne is expanding out into a second venue, having secured a nearby building.

Lorna and Jack Meredith, a daughter and father, own and run the Clockwork Day Nursery. Now they will be able to offer more space for children in the area after renovating a building that used to be a church, at a cost of £350,000. Furthermore, this is set to lead to the creation of job opportunities.

This second building is situated in Audenshaw, just outside Ashton, on Mount Pleasant Street. It will offer enough space for 78 children between the ages of 0 and 4, with 35 people set to be recruited to work there. The nursery will also now be offering a new out-of-school club aimed at 4-12 year olds, as well as a holiday group.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Lorna – who set up the nursery with her father 14 years ago – stated that it had reached the point where expansion was inevitable, adding:

“We felt there was room in the area for good quality childcare and this location is perfect, as it is near local schools, the train station and motorway.”

Nurseries like this one can always make use of places that offer full colour printing, to ensure they look bright and welcoming.
