The Co-op Academies Trust currently runs a total of 26 different colleges and schools in the north, with several of these being in the Manchester area. Now the Department for Education (DFE) has selected it to run this new school and it will collaborate with the local council in the managing of the facility, which will be located at Hyde Road, Belle Vue Manchester.
When it has been built, the Co-op Academy Belle Vue will take 1,200 youngsters aged between 11 and 16. Schools frequently make use of Stationery printers that are located in the same area, so that they can easily get any printed materials that they need for teaching purposes.
Speaking to a reporter from About Manchester, the Trust’s CEO Chris Tomlinson said:
“We’re determined to create a school that will be a beacon of both educational and environmental standards.”
He added that all of the schools run by the Trust sought to combine education with the values of the Co-op.
The first group of 120 pupils are expected to start at the academy in September of next year, but until the building of the school is completed in 2023, they will be taught at a temporary facility.
