According to the Manchester Evening News, a recent charity festival held in Ashton-under-Lyne, in Tameside, has raised over £1,000 for a toddler with tuberous sclerosis and her family to embark on their dream holiday.
Hundreds of fundraisers attended the festival, which was held at The Station Pub in Ashton.
Eloise Daley is 11 months old and suffers from the genetic disorder known as tuberous sclerosis. The disease is known to affect one in 6,000 babies, so raising awareness as well as money was one of the goals of the charity fundraiser.
Pauline Town, Eloise’s godmother, organised the charity event, named Stationisphere, at the pub to give Eloise and her family a trip to Wales. As well as running the charity event, Pauline explained that her son is going to take the family on their journey, so they won’t even need to think about travel costs.
The festival, according to Pauline, was a huge success. It saw 500 people turn up, as well as 15 bands throughout the day, and more than £1,000 was raised even before all the pledges were collected. Due to its success, there is talk of making the festival an annual event to raise awareness and money for different charities.
Eloise’s mum, Elaine Pickup, was delighted with the support during the festival, but to gain even more backing, raising awareness can be boosted by poster printing in Ashton-under-Lyne.
