The landlord of an Ashton-under-Lyne pub who uses this position to help homeless people is set to benefit from a music festival held this month via social media.
The Isolation Fest was organised by We Shall Overcome (WSO) and saw performers broadcast to people via live feed on social media site Facebook. Among the artists who took part in it were Rebekah Findlay, Phil Odgers and Attila the Stockbroker, while the headliner was Grace Petrie. The event was hosted by Joe Solo and viewers were encouraged to send donations that are going to Pauline Town.
Pauline is the landlord of Ashton-under-Lyne pub The Station and dedicates much of her time to helping the local homeless to find shelter and food. She provides them with packed lunches that they can collect from the pub and uses the money from live gigs held there to pay rent and deposit costs to get them housing.
Gigs that are held at local venues such as this one are often advertised with the help of poster printing supplied by Ashton Print shops.
The future of her pub has been threatened by the coronavirus outbreak and We Shall Overcome organiser Matt Hill said that he and everyone else involved had been thinking about what could be done to help during the lockdown. Donations of over £2,000 have already been received.Get a Free Quote for Print
