A group of school children in Ashton-under-Lyne are set to take part in a campaign that seeks to raise awareness about the skin condition
psoriasis.
Pupils at the New Charter Academy on Broadoak Road will join up with students from The University of Manchester and Salford Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust staff members to perform flash dances across Manchester.
The dances, which will possibly take place amid a host of colourful banner printing to attract a crowd, will also be streamed live on the internet.
A new training scheme will also be launched on Today (1st May) at The Midland Hotel in the city. A national programme, it will aim to give more psoriasis-focused skills to health care professionals.
The Manchester Psoriasis Shout Out is part of a national scheme, taking place all this week, and runs until this coming Friday.
Affecting over 1.8 million people living in Britain, psoriasis is an inflammatory condition which causes scaly and red patches of the skin. A condition that can have a deep mental and physical impact on those affected, the campaign is being run to raise awareness and provide advice to people who suffer from the condition.
It is also being used to showcase three academic clinical studies that are currently leading the fight against treating the disease.
