Multi-million pound growth Plans have been unveiled for an Altrincham primary school, which would see the size of the facility doubled.
Oldfield Brow Primary School is located on Taylor Road in the town, and has received the go-ahead from local authorities to move forward with the project, at an estimated cost of £4.5 million.
The work, which will involve the building of an additional eight classrooms; a new, bigger kitchen; the main hall being extended; and additional car parking space will be carried out over a seven-year period.
It will see the facility able to hold 420 pupils by 2020, and the intention is for the school to start using a two-form system of entry, beginning in September of 2016.

The expansion plans were put together by bosses at the town hall as a way of providing greater numbers of primary school places, after research by the local council showed that there were not enough places available to meet the demand.
Approximately 30 additional places were found at the Bowden CE Primary School in the town, but this still left another 45 urgently required.
