The new Plans envisage that the townhouses will be built on the Bridgewater Canal. Trafford Council has previously blocked two different visions for the future of the Altrincham-based site. Maya Property has persevered and hopes that its fresh ideas will receive approval. Brochure printing is often used by many businesses to showcase both planned developments and completed projects.
Tom Morley, an acquisitions manager for Maya Property, told Altrincham Today:
“The responses to our initial proposals from local ward councillors and their constituents were loud and clear.”
Morley explained that his firm is trying to fit in with the wishes of the local community. In practice, this has meant working towards a family-friendly development.
Olly Smurthwaite Architects (OMA) and Paul Butler Associates (PBA) have been cooperating with Maya Property. Matt Ollier is the director at OMA and he wants to do more than just transform a site which is in need of an upgrade. He aspires to produce modern accommodation near the canal.
It is thought that the design would fit in with the industrial heritage of the area. If the scheme secures the green light then several buildings face demolition. A snooker club would be one of the buildings that would be displaced.
