This development is set to be called Alexandra House, and Ollier Smurthwaite Architects are responsible for the design of it. Costing £18m to complete, it will be located on a site currently occupied by a disused hostel, at the corner of St John’s Road and Ashley Road.
The accommodation that will be included within the development will range in size from townhouses measuring 430 sq. ft. to duplexes with three bedrooms measuring 1,289 sq. ft. It will also offer parking space for up to 86 vehicles.
Formerly owned by Great Places Housing Group, the site was purchased by Real Estate Investment Partnerships during May of last year. The company’s chief executive officer, Stephen Slater, told Place North West:
“We’re thrilled to have passed the planning stages of this development and are moving ahead with turning this public eyesore into a residential development worthy of its premium location.”
He went on to add that getting busy on the site in Altrincham was now the major priority, and that the firm would ensure the finished development blended with the existing environment.
