New year build for Altrincham flats
Construction on a brand new block of flats set to be built in Altrincham is expected to get underway towards the beginning of this year, having been temporarily delayed.
This development, which will be located at Altrincham’s Moss Lane, was awarded the necessary planning permission back in spring 2016. At that time, building work was expected to get going last summer, only to be put on hold. The work represents the first phase of the much-anticipated Altair project that will cost £70 million to complete.
The primary contractor for the work, Eric Wright Construction, has now signed off on the final contract and this will enable clearance work to begin at the chosen site. Once they have been completed, work on building the block – which will comprise 59 flats – can start.
Hillcrest Homes is the firm behind the project and it will be made up of 36 flats with single bedrooms and 23 with two bedrooms. Construction should get underway towards the end of this month or at the start of February, with the amenities on offer including designer kitchens, private balconies and a terrace on the roof.
The block should be ready for people to move into by the summer of 2018 and brochure printers may be called upon to provide glossy promotional materials showcasing what is on offer to tenants.
