On Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout May, Altrincham residents are invited to learn life drawing at local studios Inch Arts.
As the organisers point out, the theory of life drawing is fairly simple - to look and draw what you see - but without learning the intricacies of the technique, this is harder in practice.
At this relaxed and friendly event, a small class will be taught to work with different materials in bringing their surroundings to life in sketches. The tasks are designed to stretch abilities while still being enjoyable, and Inch Arts says that beginners are welcome.
From quick two-minute sketches to long poses, attendees will be given a basic grounding in life drawing. It is expected that life drawing may be of particular interest to those with a passion for various Forms of art including sketching and graphic design.
Different forms of life drawing have been in existence since the Stone Age, and there are many examples of life drawing from the ancient Greeks.
Life drawing classes at Inch Arts in Altrincham take place every Tuesday from 10.30pm and 12.30pm, and Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm. The organisers have notified those interested that times for the event may change during school holiday periods.
Inch Arts offers several studio spaces for hire, with rental including bills, refreshments and internet.
