The leaflet has been produced by the organisation Natural England and it aims to communicate the benefits of environmental farming to sheep and cow farmers. The leaflet focuses on how to manage farms and smallholdings in a more environmentally considered manner. For example, there are those who dedicated programmes to help farmers to achieve a better environmental balance in their work.
Keith Siddorn, a local farmer from Cheshire, said:
"The enhanced hedgerow management and pond buffer options fit easily into the way that I farm, provide great wildlife habitats and I am guaranteed to receive payments for five years which really helps my cash flow."
Local Print companies offering flyer printing in Altrincham and the Cheshire area could be put to use to produce more localised versions of the national leaflet, using services like digital printing.
The leaflet was recently launched at the National Sheep Show, and was well-received by the farming community, particularly the parts of the leaflet explaining more about the programmes and initiatives in place to help encourage farmers to adapt their practices in line with the recommendations outlined in the leaflet.
The chairman of the National Farmers Union, Charles Sercombe, also commented on the leaflet, saying:
“The National Farmers’ Union supports this document, which clearly sets out how farmers can access schemes to support this important role and explains how the work they do benefits the environment.”Get a Free Quote for Print
