This local organisation and radio station have joined forces to organise a competition – which has been called Christmas Star. All children in the area aged between 5 and 16 are eligible to enter it, with the lucky winner set to receive a hamper filled with items worth more than £700, in addition to switching on the lights.
Altrincham Unlimited, which used to be known as the Business Improvement District, is putting together the Christmas lights event and it will be presented by Darren Proctor, a DJ from Key 103.
This year’s big switch-on will celebrate the town’s economic upswing, with a bigger display of lights covering the entire centre of Altrincham. There will also be presents provided by companies based in the town.
The manager of Altrincham Unlimited, Katie Bland, told Altrincham Today that:
“This will be Altrincham Unlimited’s first year in charge of Christmas events in the town centre, and we’re looking forward to launching the festive season with a fantastic event for all the family on Saturday 19th November.”
All competition entries should be submitted by the 11th November.
Local companies can always hand out corporate Christmas cards at events such as this.
