Details released of rowing club development in Altrincham
New information has been released to the public about Trafford Housing Trust’s planned £4.5 million development, to be located near Altrincham’s Stokoe Avenue.
This development would lead to the building of 16 new homes and provide Seamons Moss Community Association and Trafford Rowing Club with brand new bases.
SixTwo Architects, which designed the planned project, has now submitted the proposals to the council on behalf of Trafford Housing Trust. Should the council give the go-ahead, building could begin later in the year.
At the moment, the chosen development site is made up of former allotments, part of the Oldfield Brow Recreation Ground and some overgrown scrubland.
If the project moves forward, the trust can use brochure printers in Altrincham to showcase the exciting new development to people living in the area.
Trafford Housing Trust’s senior development manager, Paul Westhead, told a reporter from Messenger Newspapers:
Trafford Rowing Club currently bases itself in Walton Park, which is in Sale, but this redevelopment would see it move to a location alongside Bridgewater Canal.

“The scheme provides a superb new base for both the Seamons Moss Community Association and Trafford Rowing Club, both of whom are in desperate need to have a new home to meet the current and future requirements and will give a new lease of life to an area of open space that has been used ineffectively in recent years.”
