Cash boost for Altrincham centre

There was good news for Altrincham’s Family and Counselling Centre recently, as it received a much-needed financial shot in the arm courtesy of a £60,000 Children in Need grant.

The centre is made up of two separate facilities, one of which is located at Stamford Park in Altrincham and the other at nearby Timperley’s Broomwood Community Wellbeing Centre. It will use this funding for the support of 360 young people over a three-year period.

The centre was created to provide counselling services for a wide variety of local people – including youngsters aged over five, families, couples and single adults. With this grant from Children in Need, it will not only be able to expand its services at the two existing facilities to meet public demand, but also to add a further two services.

Manager of the centre, Jo Allen, told Altrincham Today that:

“We could not continue to reach out to the families and young people around the Altrincham area without the support of funders such as Children in Need, and our amazing team of counsellors and volunteers.”

She went on to add that the money would enable the centre to improve the lives of a greater number of people.

Community facilities such as this one often make use of places that provide booklet printing to ensure they are able to offer materials outlining the services they have.
