The award winning solicitors of 35 years, bought the bee for £19,000 with the We Love MCR charity receiving the proceeds. Alongside over 100 like it, this giant bee was part of a trail through Manchester designed to celebrate the city and raise money.
The ‘Bee in the City’ learning programme raised £1.1 million for the charity with its auction of the super-size sculptures. The charity was initiated by The Lord Mayor of Manchester to improve the lives of its citizens.

The sculpture, titled ‘Bee-bop-a-raver’ was designed by acclaimed local artist Caroline Daly. Inspired by Manchester’s 80’s to 90’s rave scene, Daly decorated her bee in the neon colours of the era.
