Altrincham revisits music of iconic American duo

A Tribute to the Carpenters, presented by Entertainers, is currently on tour with a new show, and is due to give a performance in Altrincham in mid-January.

The Carpenters were a top-selling American brother and sister-pop duo in the 1970s. Their sound was characterised by Karen's distinctive voice, complimented by Richard's keyboard playing, which all found expression in his multi-layered record production.

This is one of the original tribute shows and features Ryan Alex Farmery as Richard, with Sally Creedon as Karen, both of whom are professional West End musicians. They together, in an ambient atmosphere, deliver authentic renditions of the songs.

It takes you on a musical journey through all of the duo's hits including such well-known tracks as 'Close To You', 'Mr Postman', 'Rainy Days And Mondays', 'Top Of The World', 'Goodbye To Love' and a host of others.

This is an opportunity for original fans to relive and newcomers to discover the music of the Carpenters as well as revisit the era of the 1970s. It is an evening of musical entertainment that should appeal to a broad spectrum of people, of all age groups.

The full ticket price is £31.00. Print shops are a fantastic resource when it comes to organising a concert or musical event.

A Tribute to the Carpenters has a starting time of 7.30 pm on 18th January at Garrick Playhouse, Altrincham.
