Altrincham prepares for arrival of Broadway musical
The Broadway Musical 'A Chorus Line' performed by the Garrick Players will have a week's run in Altrincham in mid-September.
It is now five decades since 'A Chorus Line' was first staged in New York, revolutionising the art form. It picked up a total of nine Tony Awards, the prestigious New York Critics’ Circle Award, not to mention the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
The musical is set in 1975, in New York, where 17 performers are on a bare stage participating in a tough audition for an up-and-coming Broadway show. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those present to dance and fulfill their dreams, but only eight will be chosen.
The story is told through song, drama, and innovative choreography, with the auditionees describing life-changing events and why they decided to become dancers. Based on true testimonies, it is a tale of ambition and broken dreams.
This production is directed by Joseph Meighan, with musical direction by Mark Goggins and choreography by Louise Pettitt.
Tickets range in price from between £13.00 and £24.00 and may be subject to a transaction fee. Brochure printing can be a valuable asset when it comes to the promotion of a musical or other type of theatrical production.
'A Chorus Line' is due to run from Monday 8th September to Sunday 14th September at the Garrick Playhouse, Altrincham.
