As part of the development, a brand new centre for the local community, measuring 6,000 square feet, will be constructed in Ashley Road. The proposals are the result of a strategic plan put together by Hillcrest Homes, Trafford Council and Hale Community Trust, who have joined forces on the project.
The tender for developing the library site was secured by the community trust and Hillcrest Homes during the summer of 2015. The plan they are submitting will see the area’s library services moved to a building specifically constructed for this purpose, where the pavilion for the Bowling Green currently stands.
Once the site at Leigh Road has been bought, offices, a shop and homes are set to be built there, with the money from the sale financing the new community centre.
Trafford Council leader, Cllr Sean Anstee, told a reporter from Altrincham Today:
“The Hale project will see modern facilities created for residents and I look forward to Plans being put before the planning committee for its consideration.”
If the plans go ahead, Altrincham brochure printers may be required to help showcase all of the different amenities on offer within the new community centre.
