60s sounds bound for Altrincham

An acclaimed Altrincham venue is set to welcome members of the original line up of a world-famous band from the 1960s.

Altrincham’s popular Bowdon Rooms will now extend a warm welcome to The Manfreds this December. In 1991, key members of revered 60s pop group Manfred Mann reformed under the new band name after they reunited to celebrate songwriter and guitarist Tom McGuinness’ 50th birthday. The event proved to be as successful as it was enjoyable for the reformed group leading to a relaunch of their music career.

Live music venues often employ expert poster printing services to advertise the upcoming acts performing on stage and encourage ticket sales.

Original band members Mike Hugg, Tom McGuinness, Paul Jones, and Mike d’Abo, will be joined on the night by former Family drummer Rob Townsend, bass player Marcus Cliffe and Simon Currie on flue and saxophone.

The new show is entitled ‘Hits, Jazz & Blues’ and combines an eclectic mix of hits made famous by Manfred Mann in the 60s with solo material from the individual members of the group. Those attending can expect to hear a range of material which may include classic like “5-4-3-2-1”, “Fox on the Run” and “Blinded by the Light”.

The Manfreds will play The Bowdon Rooms at The Firs in Bowdon, Altrincham on Thursday, December 8. The concert will begin at 7 pm.
