First UK exhibition of artist's new works to be held near Acton

The Phoebe Collings-James: A Rose, A Bridge, A House exhibition will feature the artist’s latest sculptures and ceramics, to be shown at a gallery near Acton this spring.

It consists of more than 17 works that include sculpture and clay paintings. These will eventually come to occupy the Breakfast Room and galleries in the former home of the late Sir John Soane, who was an esteemed architect.

A British-Jamaican artist, Collings-James’ pieces are said to incorporate shifts in finish and tone, combined with a selection of varying textures while drawing on basic emotions and language. Indeed, she is heavily influenced by Ashanti folklore along with multidisciplinary approaches such as sound.

Works from the Armour series (The Subtle Rules The Dense, 2023), Mouthpiece For Terry I And II (2025), the Clay Paintings (2025–) and new sculptures from the continuing series Infidels (2023) will all be on display. The latter specifically employs techniques of Caribbean coiling. Some of these have previously been exhibited worldwide, from New York to Berlin.

Tickets cost £14.00 but are subject to concessions. Logo Design can perform an important function when it comes to the promotion of an art exhibition or artistic event.
