TV comedian brings tour to Moose Jaw

A mainstay of Canadian television as well as Hollywood, comedian Shaun Majumder will be stopping in Moose Jaw this month as part of his latest stand-up comedy tour – satirically called the Hate Tour

Born in Burlington, Newfoundland, with a population of 350, Majumder is best known as a longtime anchor and actor on the parody news show This Hour Has 22 Minutes. He spent 15 years on the series before departing in 2018, winning a Gemini Award along the way.

Majumder is also known as a regular host of Just for Laughs, the host of “Slime Tour” on kids’ game show Uh-Oh and the star of home renovation series Majumder Manor. He has appeared in Hollywood films like Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and The Ladies Man.

The Hate Tour will see Majumder take aim at hot-button political events on both sides of the border, treating serious topics like intolerance with West Coast wit. The tour comes on the heels of a new HBO stand-up special and documentary. Whether featuring television stars or local funnymen, stand-up comedy shows are often beloved local event, advertised through poster printing and brochure printing as well as word of mouth.

Sean Majumder’s Hate Tour will come to the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre on November 28, starting at 8:00 pm. Tickets are available on the venue’s website.
