The celebration, called Wakamow 45th Anniversary on the Boardwalk will feature a menu and live entertainment inspired by Saskatchewan. There will be burgers and other dishes created by the Moose Jaw Farm & Food Partnership, including locally grown beef, lentils, chickpeas and other ingredients, paired with craft beer from the province’s Rebellion Brewing.
Entertainment will be provided by West of Mabou, a Saskatchewan-based Celtic band known for their energetic performances. The event is presented in association with local sponsors and the South Hill Community Association. Fundraising events like this often use banner printing and social media to help recognize sponsors, volunteers and other contributors.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go to benefit the Wakamow Valley Urban Park, which spans 500 acres and includes over 20 kilometers of walking trails and 190 bird species. Funds will be used to conserve nature and continue to provide recreational facilities like playgrounds, skating rinks and campsites. Advertising for the event states that:

Wakamow 45th Anniversary on the Boardwalk will take place on September 5 at Plaxton’s Lake Boardwalk in Moose Jaw.
