Moose Jaw’s Saskatchewan Polytechnic will look to mark the 60th year of its Architectural Technology program this month, with a two-day reunion event open to all of the school’s alumni. The event hopes to provide opportunities for both reminiscing with old friends and industry networking.
The reunion event will kick off with a Friday-evening reunion event. Guests are encouraged to dress up in the style of the decade during which they attended the program. Current students will offer tours of the campus, allowing alumni to see what has changed and what has stayed the same. The second day will feature events like a film screening, a “pickleball” tournament, and a scavenger hunt. The weekend will conclude with a banquet and reception.
The lesser-known job of architectural technologist is involved at every stage of construction, from designing Blueprints to the building’s finishing touches. Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s program in the field takes three years, including three co-op work terms, and allows students to specialize in building science or interior design. The reunion should allow professionals in this field to network, so attendees at similar reunions often visit Print shops to make sure they have enough Business Cards and CVs should an opportunity arise.
The 60th anniversary reunion will take place at the Moose Jaw campus cafeteria next Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14. All alumni are welcome, no matter when they graduated.
