Canadian musical icon Burton Cummings, best known as the frontman of the Guess Who, will make a two-night stop in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan just prior to Christmas.
Cummings will perform a pair of solo shows at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre, as part of the ‘Up Close and Alone’ Tour. The concert is likely to include many Guess Who hits as well as songs from Cummings' acclaimed 2008 solo album ‘Above the Ground’. The concerts will take place on December 19 and 21. Besides his iconic moustache, Cummings is known for his rich vocals on hit songs like ‘Undun’ and ‘These Eyes’. Born in Winnipeg, Cummings came to prominence as the vocalist and keyboardist for the Guess Who starting in 1965. The band reached international prominence in 1970 when ‘American Woman’ became a No. 1 hit in both the US and Canada. Cummings has also released hit songs like ‘Stand Tall’ as a solo act. He was awarded the Order of Canada in 2009, and inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
The Moose Jaw Cultural Centre is a performing arts venue best known as the home of the Mae Wilson Theatre. It plays host to both major names and local productions, often in association with the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils.
