Obesity has been linked to many different health problems, and for Moose Jaw residents trying to make a change in their life, there will soon be some help.
In a collaborative effort between health care providers, the YMCA and local therapists, a program has been developed to help those with a body mass index over 30 reach a healthier weight and overall lifestyle.
The initiative is unlike any other in Saskatchewan. Participants will receive, free of charge, 12 dietary sessions, 12 therapy sessions, 72 sessions with a personal trainer and 98 free consultations with local health care providers from Alliance Wellness and Rehab. It is hoped that 1,000 people will be helped over the next two years.
The YMCA will host the physical activity components, and will offer participants an opportunity to work out in a caring, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
Almost every physician in the area has provided a letter of support for the program. These letters note that obesity is on the rise and that they welcome and support an effort that encompasses all the factors that can make weight loss a success.
Print companies can play a large role in helping such a program reach its full potential. They can provide pamphlets and other literature that explain how it works, and create all the Forms and documents that will be needed. They can even create special award certificates for those who successfully reach their weight loss and physical improvement goals.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Forms
