This fall, students who ride the bus in Moose Jaw will be able to obtain a discounted fare by purchasing a semester bus pass.
The new passes will be priced at $237.50, which represents a savings of
$25.00 for each person who buys one. They can be used for five months, running from September until January and February until June. According to the city of Moose Jaw’s transit and fleet manager Mark Sture, the goal is to offer a small price break and make it more convenient for those who use these passes to obtain them. They will only need to be purchased two times a year instead of ten, though the monthly passes will still be available for those who would prefer to buy them.
The semester passes will be going on sale in mid August. Those who are interested in obtaining transit tickets, passes and other related items can do so at the transit office, which is located 1010 High Street West and also at the Kinsmen Sportsplex, which can be found at 855 MacDonald Street. Brochures containing fares, schedules and other information that may be of use to those who use public transit can be produced by a printer. These can be mailed out, included in welcome packages for those new to the area, and given out at community events.
