Moose Jaw residents asked to lend a helping hand

Grandmothers in Moose Jaw will soon have an opportunity to easily make a difference in the lives of those in Africa who have been affected by the AIDS virus.

The Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers Supper will raise funds for children who have been orphaned due to AIDS, as well as their caregivers. It will take place at Boston Pizza, and there will be time to socialize, with a 50/50 draw also being held. Adults who take part can choose from three different pasta dishes that will be served with a Cesar, salad while kids can select from the children’s menu.

The group is acting as part of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, which uses 90 cents out of every dollar it raises to fund more than 300 programs in Africa. These include everything from health clinics, to schools, to agricultural assistance for farmers.

The meal will take place at the Boston Pizza located at Main and Thatcher. Tickets for the meal have been priced at $20 each for adults and $10 each for those up to age 11. They can be purchased at The Coop from August 25 until September 2. A Stationery printing company can help with an event such as this by printing tickets and a range of promotional items to help ensure it will be a success.
