Moose Jaw’s Prairie Storm Paintball has set its opening date for mid-April, and will be holding a special premiere event for diehards and newcomers alike.
The season opener will include discounted prices, free popcorn, and the chance to compete for special prizes. Those who have fun can pick up a season membership at discounted rates. As usual, the games will see teams armed with paintball guns and military-esque gear compete against each other to capture a flag, hold their ground, or simply eliminate the other team.
Paintball, at least as practiced at Prairie Storm, is an outdoor game, so Saskatchewan weather keeps the game quiet for much of the year, thus making this opener an anticipated event.
Prairie Storm Paintball will look to use this event to gain recruits and momentum for the local Paintball League in which dedicated 3-person teams will compete against each other throughout the summer. The season will culminate in the annual “D-Day” event, designed to commemorate Canada’s participation in World War II, which typically sees 200-300 paintballers from across the country.
Events like these are often advertised with poster printing and banner printing. For the less hardcore, Prairie Storm also offers family-friendly ‘mini-paintball’ with low-impact shooting and a friendly atmosphere.
The season opener will occur on April 18 across Prairie Storm’s six dedicated fields.
