An upcoming Moose Jaw event aims to combine a maker’s marketplace with live crafting to help people make the most out of the springtime.
The Step Into Spring Marketplace will feature a number of vendors from across the Moose Jaw area and beyond, with a focus on handmade goods and original art. The market is hosted by Starlight Handmade Markets, which holds seasonal markets featuring local artisans throughout the year. Unusual products offered at their markets include custom license plate art, knitted stuffed animals, do-it-yourself craft kits, clothing and fashion accessories. Vendors are selected from an online application process, with guests at recent markets including Creative Wanderings, DK Designs, and Party with Bears
The Marketplace will also be hosting a planter research to help individuals create and decorate their own custom planters. Participants can select from one of two styles and be able to paint or stencil artwork or messages on the wooden container, which are used to grow plants during the spring and summer months. Participants are advised to register in advance. Marketplaces like this provide an opportunity for local creators to interact directly with potential customers, often offering Business Cards and unique items or deals.
