A popular Moose Jaw farmer’s market will return for the summer at the end of the month, holding weekly outdoor markets.
The Moose Jaw Homegrown Farmer’s Market features stands by local farmers, bakers and artisans, with each week featuring about 30 vendors. Last year’s offerings included Florimac, Coteau Hills Cheese and Cookie Jar Bake Shop & Sewing. The market also features live music from local buskers and musicians.
Vendors can shift from week to week, offering frequent customers surprising new options. Markets like this help local producers and customers connect with each other, with items like Business Cards allowing vendors to make these connections long-lasting.
The market has had to make adjustments to accommodate social distancing, such as creating one-way lanes and removing eating within the market area, but organizers and vendors have said the 2020 season was a success thanks to support from the community. The organization has also held evening markets and indoor winter markets in the past, which may return in the future when interest warrants. Vendors and musicians apply to be part of the market through an online application process.
The Moose Jaw Homegrown Farmer’s Market will return on May 29 and will be held every Saturday morning from 8am to 1pm until October 9. The market is located on the 400 block of Langdon Crescent.
