A summertime farmers market will be returning for 2020 in Moose Jaw, looking to provide all products home-grown and home-made.
The Moose Jaw Homegrown Farmers Market will feature local vendors, including fresh produce but also items such as arts, crafts, artisan food and baked goods. Past stalls have included Sommer Love Herbs, Green Sister Gardens and Apley Dark preserves.
The outdoor location provides Moose Jaw residents a chance to enjoy the summer weather while supporting local businesses during a difficult time. Past events have also included music and other Forms of live entertainment, particularly during the Wednesday night markets at the height of summer.
2019 was the biggest year yet for the Homegrown Market, featuring more than a dozen new vendors, with some focusing on modern health trends like the paleo and keto diets. Farmers market have become a popular attraction for urban residents to obtain fresh and local food, with many vendors including Business Cards or Promotional Products to make long-term customers. The Homegrown Market has also hosted monthly indoor events in the winter, including a holiday-themed market, to keep momentum going.
