A Calming Kit can be an invaluable classroom resource, and an event that has been planned for the Moose Jaw Public Library will teach educators how to craft one for their own students.
The workshop’s facilitator will provide the attendees with a variety of tips and techniques they can use to help their children in their classroom calm themselves down so that they can focus on the task at hand. Details will be shared about the benefits of activities such as reading stories, taking a movement break, and engaging with visual cues. It is designed to be suited to children from grade kindergarten to grade three, but the organizers noted that it can be adapted for any age group.
Along with the techniques, each educator who participates will walk away with their very own Calming Kit, which they can use with their own students. The event will be facilitated by Louis Burridge, who is a local occupational therapist. Digital copying can be used by the organizer of an event like to produce Copies of any materials that will be distributed to those who take part in the activity.
This workshop, which can help to bring calm to a noisy and rambunctious classroom, will take place next Tuesday, October 3, in the Moose Jaw Public Library. The registration fee will be $75 each. Get a Free Quote for Copies
