The new regional hospital coming to Moose Jaw is expected to have a very positive impact on the local housing and commercial real estate market.
According to Shawn Robinson of Robinson Contracting, he has seen the community of Northeast Moose Jaw experience gradual growth over the years, but he believes that the new facility will result in a lot more people and businesses alike moving in to the area. As an example, he pointed out that a commercial building his firm is constructing at 15 Lancaster Road is already 25% rented, even though it will not be ready to open before October.
Robinson further went on to say that he feels that the hospital is motivating the increase in construction in the area, and that the area has huge potential for growth. There is already a Ramada Inn that has started up operations in the neighborhood, and more could follow. This could present a range of spinoff benefits for the businesses in the city, such as brochure printers. They will be able to produce pamphlets and other promotional materials for the companies that move in.
A local real estate agent, Morley Munn, agrees with his synopsis and pointed out that he has noticed the expansion that has taken place in recent years. He believes that, with the construction of the new health care center, this trend will continue.
