The 69th annual Moose Jaw Band and Choral Festival is taking place at several venues in the city over four days next month.
This long-standing festival is a non-competitive event for local musicians of all ages. There will be workshops and hands-on clinics for jazz bands, choirs and concert bands. These will be led by four different clinicians including Greg McLean, Glenn Gillis and Marcia McLean.
There will also be three night shows open to the public that will feature such performers as the Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Moose Jaw Community Concert Band. In addition, the Prairie Chamber Choir, conducted by Dr. Melissa Morgan and featuring Dr. Melissa Morgan will be performing at one of those shows.
The festival will take place in four separate venues – the Mae Wilson Theatre, A. E. Peacock Collegiate, the St. Aidan Church Hall, and Zion Church.
This event allows the public to see the amount of musical talent available in the community and gives the musicians a chance to perform in public (many for the first time). To advertise, organizers might invest in flyer printing services from a local Print company.
