Moose Jaw’s Festival of Trees fundraiser will return for its 30th year this December, marking the holidays with a virtual auction for charity.
The 2021 edition will be the second year the festival has used a virtual format, with the auction taking place through a digital live stream. The festival will have a theme of “Homegrown Christmas”, with organizers encouraging people to host home celebrations within local health guidelines.
Select auction items will be showcased at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre in the lead-up to the event, as part of a large holiday tree display. Businesses will also be encouraged to decorate their storefronts to raise awareness of the festival.
The Festival of Trees raises money for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, and it has raised millions of dollars over its decades of existence. Proceeds from this year’s festival will go towards the purchase of equipment used for training doctors and nurses. There will also be an exclusive festival meal prepared by Streets Restaurants & Bar and The Mad Greek, which will be delivered to participating households.
