Moose Jaw Beatles’ fans will soon have an opportunity to get together with other music lovers and have fun while singing the songs they love.
The event will be held at the Moose Jaw Cultural Center’s Mae Wilson Theater. Mandy Higgins, who is the site’s cultural director, said a sing-along of Christmas favourites was held in December, and it was so popular and so much of a success that it was decided that the time had come to hold another one.
The first part of the evening will feature songs form the band’s early years, and wind up with selections from their later recordings.
According to Higgins, many of their songs are both well known and extremely well suited to a sing-along style. A printing company can create programs and decorations that can lend a festive and fun air to the evening.
The idea for the evening came from a local singer and songwriter, Lorne Deason. He, and other area musical artists, will be providing musical accompaniment and will also lend their voices to lead the singing. The lyrics for the songs will be projected onto a screen so everyone can read them and follow along.
The event is scheduled to start at 7:30pm on March 21st, with tickets, which can be purchased at the door, priced at $10.00 each.
