Windsor will be walking down to the Electric Avenue International Jazz Festival once again this summer, for a musical gathering featuring jazz musicians from across North America.
The event features a variety of jazz styles ranging from classic soul to up-tempo bebop. Headlining the festival will be a Trumpet Summit featuring some of the best trumpeters in contemporary jazz, including longtime Stevie Wonder collaborator Dwight Adams, rising star Aidan Lombard and Juno-nominated Windsor native Russ Macklem. Macklem will also lead his Detroit Quintent to headline the first night of the festival.
Other performers across the weekend include the Kevin Grenier Trio, Austin DiPietro Quartet and the Detroit-based Buffoon Trio. Both days of performances will start with the Assumption High School Jazz Ensembles, showcasing performer of the future under the direction of Brian Zanier. Music festivals like this often use poster printing, social media and other promotional methods to get the word out.
The festival will conclude with Slow Jam Sunday, providing a chance to dance and relax. Visitors can also take in some of Windsor’s best street art at the nearby Electric Avenue Art Alley. The event is hosted with the support of the St. Clair College Alumni Association, Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and local musician Jeremy Price.
The 2026 Electric Avenue International Jazz Festival will take place at the Windsor Eats Food Hall from June 26 to 28, with admission free to spectators.
