Max Nitschke to give lecture at Windsor Printmaker's Forum

Max Nitschke, the subject of the current exhibit ‘Scribbles and Reminiscences’, will be speaking at a special reception at the Windsor Printmaker's Forum.

The exhibit, which is showing at the forum's gallery until February 2, features examples of Nitschke's long and successful career in printmaking. The artist, who lives in London, Ontario, became a Canadian citizen in 1954 and took up printmaking in the 1970s as a hobby. This hobby quickly grew into a career. His subjects vary from sexuality to the Canadian experience and spirituality. He is also currently writing a book about his life.

The artist will be reminiscing about his career and sharing his inspiring story. Those attending the reception will be served refreshments and appetizers.

The reception and the exhibit might be of interest to those in Windsor who work for graphic arts or printing companies. Viewing the work of a printmaker who has been creating prints for over 40 years can only help to inspire their own creative ideas and allow them to study how printmaking techniques have changed over the years. Those attending will also likely get a chance to meet with and talk to the artist himself.

The reception will take place at the Windsor Printmaker's Forum on January 28 from 7:00 - 10:00pm. Admission is free. The gallery which is displaying the exhibit ‘Scribbles and Reminiscences’ is open daily from 11:00am - 3:00pm. For more information leave a voice mail message at 529-253-9493.
